Wedding insurance

Right all you lovely brides to be. Team Thompson had a very nasty shock yesterday. We arrived for our Wedding tasting to the sight of a crane in the drive way of our venue….Not a large bird but a JCB style huge crane!

Both of us turned to each other mouths agape and totally speechless, to the right of us was a huge 19-bedroom development. Words escaped us.

I was shaking with rage and in floods of tears as this was clearly never going to be finished before our wedding, in 3 months time. What followed was a very tense and fraught conversation with our wedding coordinator. Currently we are sat here not know where or when are getting married! Despite invites having gone out and rooms booked.

In hindsight purchasing some wedding insurance may have been a good idea. Luckily our venue are very apologetic and doing everything in their power to make this right. However if they had taken the line that the contracts were signed and deposits paid we would be left with option but to carry on.

Having looked at insurance tonight, taking it out will be the first task of Monday morning. Here is a list of things insurance can cover, this depends on your policy but I will bet you are surprised at some of things they cover!

 Cancellation
Ceremonial attire
Wedding gifts
Flowers
Cars
 Personal accident
 Public liability
 Photography
 Legal expenses
 Financial failure of wedding suppliers

So with cover being found from £25 it may well be worth giving it some thought, before you wish you had done it.
